IRL In case you have been under a rock, you may not be familiar with the acronym IRL, that means "In Real Life."
It is a term that was used a lot throughout the week in describing relationships, introductions and meetings with one another. A common phrase overheard: "It's nice to meet you IRL."
So much fun at #BWENY and so great to finally meet @markwschaefer @johnfalchetto @thesaleslion @skooloflife IRL http://pic.twitter.com/F9Zik5SMCraig McBreen
IRM This term goes beyond a friendly, superficial encounter and takes into account the level of influence certain individuals have and how you manage those with high levels of IRM.

NMX BlogWorld Expo, or #BWE is so 2012.
It was announced during this week's event that the name will be changed to New Media Expo, or NMX. The next event is scheduled right around the corner, in early January at Vegas!
Books "Books, you know, those things that are like Kindle Fires, but without batteries," comments Peter Shankman, who also recommends that you read one.
Books are also a big deal with thought leadership in the blogosphere. An interesting perspective, I noticed several publishers and broadcasters mingling within the BWENY crowd. As the traditional media seeks to learn more about social and mobile marketing, the SoMos continue to get book deals, and enjoy book signings too.
Did you get any books at #BWENY?
Duckface You know that pose, when people stick their lips out like they're bad-to-the-bone rappers?
For example, see these two cool dudes below. Mitch Cantor, @StudioNashVegas and Dre Armeda, @DreArmeda pose as gangsta as they can here. Even with the Wordpress bond, fedora hats and Old Navy tats, the pose is still called duckface, apparently.

Crap Ton of Thingies During the keynote presentation, Chris Brogan shared tips on how to Stand Out Above the Noise. He included the phrase, "crap ton of thingies."
Leaving me to be unsure if "Crap ton" is two words or one, the overall insight gained from this phrase was that Chris Brogan, the household name of the blogosphere kept it stone cold real. Nothing fancy. No smoke and mirrors.
So you wanna be a blogga? All you need is: a crap ton of thingies.
How's that for simple?

Sexting I used to think this term referred to flirting via text communications. Now, after hearing some alarming and rather dextrous activities that 10% of women have texted during sex, the term sexting just advanced past second base, beyond the flirting to All. The. Way.
Guess the smartphone and its hot apps has more sex appeal than ever before.
Important statistic from #BWENY - I wonder what they text about. http://pic.twitter.com/ZBhvam6gCagdas Onen
Pinned Pins for girls, boys and brands like Benjamin Moore who reported that 12% of their website traffic comes from Pinterest. Sony was another brand that pins for more sales, acquisition and brand awareness.

Boobage Boobage, it's like footage but only more interesting. Rumor has it that the opening night's topless lady who stood on top of a table was a publicity stunt. Others say that BWENY would have gotten better "boobage" if they were in on it. Regardless, boobage topped the list of BWENY buzzwords.

Twitter You may be wondering, why is she including Twitter as a BWENY buzzword for 2012. Well, I'll tell you why. Some intriguing research was announced at Blogworld regarding Twitter. Tom Webster, Twitter/@webby2001 reported that although 10% of Americans use Twitter, almost half of Americans hear "Twitter" mentioned on a daily basis. That gives Twitter a lot of buzz power.
